Learn Internet Projects by Doing - LIP 6

LIP 6 Live Online is the newest course of teacher-in-service training "Learn Internet Projects by Doing". The 1st on-site seminar of the course takes place September 27-28, 2007 and the international partner projects are carried out in the school-year 2007-08. The course is organised in cooperation of OPEKO, the National Center for Professional Development in Education, and the Comenius 3 network COMP@CT. The course is coached by Mr Ilpo Halonen, senior lecturer, M.A.
The new thing of the course is the use of live online sessions as part of the partner projects with foreign colleagues and with their student groups. LIP 6 Live Online is the 6th course with an e-journalistic approach to project-based learning. The LIP 1 was organised in 2002-03.
There is a live online room for 50 participants integrated into eJournals where LIP 6 LION participants work. Live sessions have proved to be very useful. They have been used e.g. in contacts with Indian teachers. Visits of Finnish and Dutch teachers to India have been prepared in the live online room of eJournals.
The course LIP 6 Live Online has the ambitious aim at training some teachers even as moderators of live online sessions. The next on-site seminars have scheduled on November 21, 2007 and January 28-29, 2008.
